How To Make Your Writing More Emphatic

When it comes down to writing I believe that you should always start out by asking yourself what you believe the subject is about coming from your own knowledge. After doing so do research to find out what it is really about and from there talk about what you have learned compared to what you thought before hand. This makes your writing more emphatic because people are able to see what you have learned and you are then able to pass on the knowledge in a more clear and concise manner. Usually this will grab the readers attention and they will be able to understand what is going on.

Role of Guns in America

Today in the United States the topic on guns is continuously brought up because now a days it's like we can't go anywhere without worrying about our safety. This is due to public shootings that have been increasing over the past couple of years, and no matter how many laws are passed it is like the government cannot come up with a proper solution to the problem. The most the government has tried to do with this is change the gun control laws, who can have a gun, and the times that you can buy a gun at. And even though all these laws have been made we still have isssues, which explains why it is being brought up in presidential debates now.

A Conflict I Have With Someone In My Family

A conflict I have with someone in my family is just plan sad and depressing. This conflict I have is between my cousin and I and all started when we finally decided what college we were going to go to. She decided to go to the University of Georgia while I decided to go to Middle Georgia State University. When it was time for us to leave off and go to school we were both very sad, because we have never been away from each other for over a week, and even though we go home once or twice a month we never go home at the same time which is just plain sad. We are planning on both being home for Thanksgiving so hopefully this will be a success.  

Colleagues Wiki Post

I was reading one of my colleague's posts about their wiki topic and I found it very interesting. Her name is Eriana and her topic is on "hairdressers". From reading about what she had learned, I was able to find out out that hairdressers go way back "The best information that I have learned about beauty salons is that have been around for centuries.They weren't like the beauty salons we have today, but they were considered salons because people did hair in them". I had no idea about this and was so interested in her topic that I will most likely be going back to her blog to read more about what she has learned about hairdressers and the history behind them. Another topic I found interesting was Genesis' topic on fashion, mainly because my minor after I leave this school will be fashion merchandising so I can become a clothing buyer. I was very intrigued from her information given to find out that "There annual salaries can run from $30,000 all the way up to $100,000 a year. The average buyer usually makes around $61,000 per year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics". This tells me that as a clothing buyer I would be making bank especially if I end up working for a high-end retail department store.

Wiki Topic

The best information I found on my topic mostly dealt with the history of Furla, because there was not that much information already found on the topic. Most of the information I got came from www.luxemag.org which talks more about the family business with also giving a timeline of the company's history. The title "Furla-the Italian Brand Handbags" really helped when it came down to what I was looking for. Another source that really helped me, came from an article that I found on Galileo.org, this particular article just went in depth as to Furla's image and how they can change it.

Nuclear Family

Aa changing relationship with my nuclear family would probably have to be from how over the years my father and I have grown apart. When I was little I was always a daddy'a girl and wherever he would go I would go to if he let me. As I have grown up over the years we have split apart because he does not know how to relate to me like he use to when I was little. Now a days I consider myself more of a Mommy's girl because whenever I go home I talk to her and tell her every thing.

Quoting Colleagues

After reading some people's post on the stereotypes between men and women, I found out that a lot of my classmates believe that the women are stereotyped more than men. On TJ's blog he said that "I really hate it for the women when a man "degrades" her just because she is a woman". It is really sad when we are degraded especially when it comes down to trying to get a job and the person reviewing your information is probably a man, because if there are more men applying for a job it is more likely for the man to get selected although they may have the same amount of experience. Another good example I found was on Monica's blog she said "a guy is dating this girl but on the side he still talks to other girls . he tells his friends and his friends think its cool and its alright for him to do that . but if a girl is in a relationship with a guy and talks to other guys. its a problem and she called tramp or doing something she shouldn't", this just shows that all around we bare judged by other women and men.

From my Wikipedia article I have learned that it is going to take a lot of work for my to edit these paragraphs because the original writer included very little information. This most likely means that they did not spend much time on it and took what they thought was most important from their sources. For me it is gonna be difficult to find what information needs to be added and dropped, along with finding sources that are worthy to use. Especially sense my article is based off a couple that is high-end and finding accurate information for something that is not made for everybody makes it harder also.

Effective Intro For A Wikipedia Article

I believe that an effective intro to a Wikipedia article will say what your article is about and go very in depth with it. I am  not saying to start it off like how you would with a thesis in an essay. No matter what you are talking about, I believe that you should start off by giving a little bit of history and why the topic is so important that it needs an article on Wikipedia. For example if you are creating an article on a company you would probably start with a little bit of origin and why the company is so popular today.

How Men and Women Stereotype Eachother

I personally believe it is women that have it worse than men when it comes down to stereotyping, although we are stereotyped by the same things. Women and men both get stereotyped by the jobs we have, playing video games, how we should act and etc. The difference between these two comes in when it is who is stereotyping who. Men are usually stereotyped by other men and not many women say something about this, but for women we are stereotyped by men and women. Men will usually stereotype us by the jobs that they believe we should have and believing that all women should stay inside most of the time and cook and do housework while the men provide for the family. Now when it comes down to women stereotyping other women it mostly comes from older women saying that all ladies should sit with their legs closed and sit up straight or that women are suppose to be seen and not heard.

Organization of My Wikipedia Article

Well at first my Wikipedia article was based on clothing buyers, then the MCM brand, and now it is on the Furla brand. I changed it because the article has a lot that I can add to it sense it is still starting up. So far I have decided to find out everything that the article is missing and what can be added to make it successful. To do so I have been reading different articles about the company and putting them in my reading list so I can refer back to them later on.

Finding Humor In A Strange Situation

I am a person that can laugh in really awkward situations and always find humor in something so I won't show my real emotions. Like a couple weeks ago me and my friends went to Statesboro to go out one night, and there was a lot of tension in my car. My car seats a maximum of 5 people, but that night I had a total of 7. This is where some of the tension came from, because my friend and her boyfriend were arguing because he did not want her to ride with her other friends so she rode with me and sense my car was full she had to sit on his lap and that made everything 10x worse because they were both pissed off at each other and arguing for 20 minutes about the situation. In the meantime I just thought it was hilarious that she had to sit on his lap the whole 2 hrs back and they were arguing.

MLA Format

MLA format is my favorite to use when it comes to writing essays. One of the main reasons it is my favorite comes from the fact that before college I was never told what APA format is not how to use it. My teachers always told me to use MLA, and throughout the years I learned more and more about it such as font size, using quotes, what font to use, and etc. Now that I am in college I have learned even more and I thought I already knew everything about essay formats but I guess I was wrong.

Wiki Reading List

I changed my topic again and for the last time (I hope) to a fashion line that has become well-known here in the U.S. over these last couple of years. The line is called Modern Creation Munich and most of their bags, shoes, belts, etc. will have a MCM logo all over. To start off my reading list I have been looking up their history and coming up with different categories I can add to the MCM page. One of the categories I have decided to add is store locations, which will show where you can find the store around the world and not just here in the U.S.

Sloppy vs Neat People

Compared to the readings that we did on this subject, I disagree with what the writer said about sloppy people. The way that she talked about sloppy people by saying that the simply have a deeper system to go about things. This's gives the idea that sloppy people are simply neat. They just think deeper than them, and that means that sloppy is not really a thing and it is. Being sloppy to me means that you are too lazy to do simple activities and that you put some things off until the last minute, whereas being neat you may not be eager to do simple activities but you go ahead and do them so you can be done with it.
